"Well, where are you going to find any moral compass if you reject the ten
commandments? "

It is much easier to find a moral compass than you might think without the ten commandments. Anyone who needs a commandment to prevent them from committing adultery doesn't have a very good grasp on relationships, and how they die.

I realize there are people, who for whatever reason, need an outside authority to tell them what to do. But I wish you could see that THESE people are the people one needs to be afraid of- because they will take whatever outside force they latch on to- Lenin, Hitler, God, Moonies- whatever, and they will follow uncritically, and do horrible things as a group with no compunction, because individual thought was surrendered from the start.

A real critical thinker is not a very frightening individual. I do not think I've ever heard of humanists or agnostics burning books, or lynching people, or doing any of the horrible things believers do.

And I have no idea what you think "God principals are" but since religious fanatics do all sorts of horrible inhumane things, I believe God principles must not be moral, per se. As with everything else it depends on who is interpreting them. I consider the surrender of the little gray cells the highest immorality.

I wish you would post some facts to support your position that parents fail to teach morality in the home. I'd love to see some statistics, or studies. I interact with many young children, and I think you are wrong, but I don't have statistics, either, just personal experience.

Do you honestly not know that there are moral people all over the world who do not believe in the Ten Commandments, per se, because they are neither Christian nor Jew?
