So if we wait a bit other technologies will prove superior. If that's the case why run cable? Because technology is a race too. Cable will take its revenue stream from early adopters and pour it back into improving the technology. Its a positive feedback cycle. Eventually those improvements will include "open access". Shut down the revenue growth now while you wait for 6months to a year to reengineer the system and you may well never get the critical mass for cable to support itself as the technology falls behind in popularity. Dont tell me you are so naive as to believe that the best technology always wins? The best technology loses more often than not. People herd. They do what the herd does. Nothing as simple as control over advertisements is going to change that. The purpose of regulation is only to enable competition and competition is ipso facto not fair Good point.
