Check out the top right of the page...SI recently posted a link to Datek and seems to have stirred up quite the controversy. Apparently, SI promised awhlie back that ads wouldn't appear on members pages without their permission and now they feel lied to and this that this is the proverbial first leak in the dam re: ads

Personally, I think there's alot bigger problems that SIers should be concerned with. My biggest gripe is the damn errors I get on a daily basis and not some stupid ad. BWTF...

I haven't formally heard it from anybody John, I was just speculating. However if you look into all of Allen's portfolio companies its pretty easy to see the direction, he wants to integrate these properties. He never invests in two of anything for example. Gnet is the upstart in the bunch, everybody else is a leader or has a little more presence, gnet is more of a nichey company, imo only.
