Thank you for this, Jubimer. Hal also corrected me on the amount to be redeemed in the early quarters (I did a straight division).

I think I did make the distinction between the two classes. My thought was that Ampex had already made the decision to use stock for at least the first three quarters.

Again thanks for your initial post. I gave myself a royal headache tracking down all the loose ends that were floating around in my head because of that!

Jubimer, you raise an interesting point. The holders of the convertible preferred and the redeemable preferred are one and the same since it was a part of the same transaction. Over half of the convertible issue was converted in February. This would indicate that less than half of the redeemable holders will continue to hold the common stock they receive, and is probably a fairly accurate predictor.

Jubimer, one more point. In your post you say with reference to the redeemable preferred that Ampex must pay both the dividend and the face amount with common stock. My read is that this is non-cumulative preferred, and that therefore there is no dividend is due, since Ampex has not declared any. Am I mistaken?
