I agree with the comments about CPQ. Compaq will need to streamline, improve margins...it will do this by focusing on its core businesses, not by venturing into new ones. When Steve Jobs took Apple back, the first thing he did was cut out any peripheral businesses, some of which were very promising (the eMate and the Newton), and focus on core software and hardware components (most notably, developing the iMac). This strategy obviously rescued AAPL and set them back on the right path. I would imagine that whoever is CPQ's new CEO will employ a similar strategy.
