OFF TOPIC: Stephen: Solid oxide fc's make a lot of sense in stationary power generation, provided developers figure out how to handle all the heat without resorting to prohibitively expensive alloys. Like carbonate fc's they should be a lot more efficient than PEM or phos acid, with excellent potential for the waste heat.

I'm really baffled by why anyone would want to consider using them in a car, where the high temperature has to be considered a negative, and not even try to use them to make the wheels go around. Seems to me that an upgraded battery could accomplish the same thing a lot cheaper and easier. Perhaps something will come of it, but I would consider it a long shot.
