Jill,

your advice stinks, no offense intended.

Buying on weakness (aka trying to time the bottom) has done severe damage to my portfolio. Often a stock will never recover from a large drop and your money can be tied up for years waiting and hoping.

Some themes that I now follow (having learned the costly way):

Cut your losses short.

Never buy on weakness.
There is a reason for continued weakness.

Buy into strength. As Peter Lynch once noted: it a stock is going to $100 then does it really matter if you buy at $5, $10 or $25?

<< Buy on weakness>>

Jill: That's not a bad strategy at all IF YOU REALLY DO YOUR HOMEWORK and believe in a firm's future potential. In the last few years I have bought more CMGI and DELL on weakness -- like we had last October. Overall, it's worked quite well <GG>.....Recently I have been buying more NETP on weakness. Its a new public internet infrastructure company that is misunderstood. It has over 2/3 of its market, enables online retailers to personalize their offerings, and 10% of the company is owned by Paul Allen. Now with DDEQ I am a recent shareholder (just boarded the train last week). Yet, IMO we have irrational fear about the internet division's future. FEAR is false education appearing real. All my research on DDEQ tells me that this company has a good chance of executing for us. If that happens our DDEQ stock could be worth way up into the double digits. I realize there is risk but I think I'll pick up some more shares tomorrow (while they're still on sale)..!!

Best Regards,

Scott
