The K7 took AMD quite a long time to design and they are still a LONG WAY from manufacturing it !

Horrible. Just horrible.

Even Merced - designed completely from the ground up - only took ABOUT 5 years to design - including complete definition of the EPIC architecture.

Fry's is having a blowout sale on Merced systems this weekend.

The P6 core was in the works in 1992. When did we see the first Pentium Pro? Pentium II? Pentium III?
