John should answer in detail, but on a very simple basis: C-Cube has technology for the compression of video images (again, simply, if one pixel of a picture is black, and the next sixteen are black, in stead of sending seventeen signals saying "black" a signal is sent that says "seventeen blacks"). This technology is on a chip that various manufacturers in the TV industry use. John's posts are all related to the various developments in the broadcasting of TV signals and the equipment used to send and receive those signals.

Please Folks, don't come down on me for the simplicity of this, (no pretentions here about technological know-how!)...just so you didn't go too long without an answer!

Multicasting? Divicom's specialty.

Libit is a cable modem chip vendor. They compete with Broadcom. If C-Cube wanted to directly compete with Broadcom, they should have bought Libit.

VOD. C-Cube has the parts, but that market is not ready for prime-time.

TVPAK is Windows CE for set top boxes. Some set tops will need to run it. It's important that C-Cube's chips run it.

Web-to-TV. C-Cube's AViA@TV does this. They have over a 20% market share in digital set top boxes. Next year, C-Cube could see over a 30% market share in set top boxes.

When it come to DTH, Divicom and NCI are the largest for headends. All suppliers use C-Cube chips. As set tops add features, C-Cube could sell more settop chips.

China is a market that Divicom is well positioned in.
