Yes, I do. If a company in an industry such as paper cannot find many ways to invest its cash flow in growth engines, then share buybacks make a great deal of sense, particularly when the share price is low as it can help put a floor under the stock price.

I have been thinking about guidelines. Perhaps we can drag The Other Analyst in on this one.

Could be, But most of your analysis is wasted on the thread participants and keeping up this kind of questioning might get you into trouble, I hear nai is suing 20 or so posters from the yahoo thread and they got some info from their contacts and data at exds as well. You brought up a lot of good points. And this company has a double standard that it lives by. maybe it is a good example on in which companies you should never invest in. At least on bmcs thread it might fall on people able to understand what it is you are even talking about.

Oh BTW, I am really happy the institutions got the hot poker! They voted for all these mergers and waste of money even if they would end up paying a high price for it. Guess they paid the ultimate price. I saw AMEX cut back from 7 mil shares to under 2 mil. Now there is still TROW price and the other fund with 10+ mil shares. TROW must really have total morons running it. This is like the 5th major disaster I have seen their funds take. Sunbeam gave it to them real good too. You would think when they have a billion on the line, They would have someone AT the place ALLA time keeping an eye on things! But hey, it aint their money right?
