Alantra's Vancouver Teleport makes first VIPSatNet sale Alantra Venture Corp AVB Shares issued 3,635,841 1999-09-20 close $0.72 Tuesday Sep 21 1999 Mr. John McCleery reports Further to news in Stockwatch Aug. 13, 1999, pursuant to which the company announced the completion of Vancouver Teleport's VIPSatNet demo trailer, the company has made first sale of the VIPSatNet broadband Internet-based satellite communication solution to the Government of Saskatchewan (environment and resource management). The sale has a value of $49,900 for the purchase of the equipment and estimated monthly revenue of $4,000 for annual revenue of $48,000. This sale is a direct result of the demo being used at a forest fire base camp in August. The first sale of this new technology proves commercial viability of this broadband Internet-based communications solution. Alantra Venture Corp. owns 51 per cent of Vancouver Teleport Ltd., the operators of the VIPSatNet. The VIPSatNet uses the latest Internet technologies to combine voice, long-distance, video conferencing, private data communications and T1 (1.544 Mbps) bandwidth Internet access. Vancouver Teleport is the owner and operator of the new satellite communication network. VIPSatNet is a system which provides broadband Internet-based satellite communication solutions.
