I guess it is better than buying a new Cadillac with it. At least it looks like HSAC will get good mileage.

I assume you mean you bought 2000 shares of HSAC at $16 1/2 on margin. The margin debit would be $16,500. You posted $16,500 and you got that money by borrowing through your credit card. You have to pay the broker call loan rate plus your broker's premium on the 16.5Gs debit balance so you're paying something like $125/mo for it. On the 16.5Gs you borrowed on the credit card with an APR of, say, 15%, maybe that's $225/mo. So to carry this transaction you pay something like 125 + 225 = $350/mo.

How did you execute a trade and pay with a credit card?
