Cirruslvr - Re: I remember reading somewhere that in Japan two companies use the K6-III. Does anyone else remember something like this???

Yup:

Fujitsu and NEC have systems based on K6-III's. They don't sell much in the US or Europe, but they do cover 55% of the Japanese (together).

Cringe - Re: "You can get K6-III systems from Tier 2 companies on the internet. "

Gee.. now I AM IMPRESSED !

I'll bet these companies are selling hundreds and hundreds of these Kmart 63 machines - to AMD shareholders !

Re: "Sure, neither of those two are as good as having the systems on store shelves, but it is better than nothing. "

You're right - its' better than nothing.

The Kmart 63 is an outstanding success story !
