Thanks for this advice. It is true that it is not good to read Yahoo messages. Yahoo allows people to create as many accounts and as many aliases as one wants. So, some threads that look very active are really just one or two people posting 80% or more of the messages using a dozen or more different aliases. Since we are dealing with financial topics and people who are investing their money, it's not very responsible of Yahoo. But it's something that the online financial community has had to live with for a couple years now.

Yahoo Auctions has the same problems as Yahoo Discussion... as many aliases as you want. Bid on the stuff you are selling to fool people into thinking your item is hot... give yourself high feedback ratings using 10 of your other aliases. The problems go on and on. I think Yahoo is in the business of creating online environments where con artists thrive.

I know why Yahoo does this, but it doesn't make it right.
