Gates, Buffett Head Forbes's Top 200 Working Rich

New York, June 20 (Bloomberg) -- Microsoft Corp. Chairman
and Chief Executive Bill Gates is the wealthiest working
billionaire, Forbes magazine reported, with an estimated worth of
$90 billion.
Gates, 43, topped Forbes magazine's list of the 200 richest
actively working billionaires in the world. The magazine, which
published the list in its July 5 issue, looked at 465
billionaires and removing those who weren't executives or
corporate directors. Forbes then ranked the 200 richest.
Investor Warren Buffett ranked second on the list with
$36 billion, followed by investor and Microsoft co-founder Paul
Allen with $30 billion and Microsoft President Steve Ballmer with
$19.5 billion.
Anschutz Corp. Chairman and Union Pacific Corp. Vice
Chairman Philip Anschutz is tied at fifth with Dell Computer
Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Michael Dell with $16.5
billion, followed by Wal-Mart Stores Inc. Chairman Robson Walton
with $15.8 billion and United Saudi Bank Chairman Prince Alwaleed
Bin Talal Alsaud at eighth with $15 billion.
Rounding out the top 10 are retailers Theo and Karl
Albrecht, who run Germany's Aldi Group, with $13.6 billion, and
China's Li Ka-shing, chairman of real estate developer Cheung
Kong Ltd. and conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa Ltd., with
$12.7 billion.
Forbes also included a list of the 10 wealthiest non-working
rich, whom they call ''coupon clippers,'' meaning they are
getting rich off dividend coupons from the companies whose stock
they hold. The list is topped by the Oeri, Hoffman and Sacher
families, who own just over 50 percent of Hoffman-La Roche AG,
and Liliane Bettencourt, who owns 51 percent of the holding
company that controls L'Oreal SA.
