I believe in evolution, but the increase in stature isn't due to evolution, it's due to nutrition. That one I am sure about.

As for the new flu viruses, I believe that they aren't new species of flu viruses. Variations on the same theme, like black-white-red-yellow-brown human beings.

I don't know about the toad. Can you give me the particulars?

The flu virus presents a problem. Does evolution apply to viruses? They aren't species. I do not know the current evolutionary theories regarding viruses. I find it odd that you would use a problematic area like viruses to illustrate a point about evolution.

I am fairly well informed on evolution, and am aware of other non-Darwinian theories.

I am not confusing the fact of evolution- as far as I know it is not a fact. I happen to think it is a very credible theory and it is the one I subscribe to, but I have never heard a reasonable scientist state it was a fact.
