As with anything, it would be silly to make a grand, sweeping proclamation: Computer software companies will make you rich. Genomics is the future for biotechnology companies. Plastics! But you just know that within any industry, there will be clever people, finding a niche here and there, that nobody even thought of. --Plus the stuff that everybody did think of. I like Gene Logic--expression profiling and molecular movies. They seem to have established a business model that will allow them to last until they're able to find a profitable niche, or until they discover something big, that can always happen, plenty of targets, like Easter on the front lawn--even the shy quiet kid can sneak around the bullies and come up with a pretty egg.
