Hutch, let us not forget that the funds, and even the small speculators, are currently record net short the gold contract. the lent out gold also represents a huge de facto short position. meanwhile newly mined supply is way below demand for several years running - the difference being made up mainly by central bank sales. should anything happen that moves the price of gold up - a collapse in the dollar or the stock market or both comes to mind - you will see the mother of all short covering rallies. regards, hb
