what are people using to measure liquidness

My measures of an illiquid/liquid stock would be far different than the people playing the NASDAQ. On the Canadian side I consider volume above a million with over 1000 trades a day and tight spreads a liquid stock. For the NASDAQ this might be considered an illiquid stock by many people.
