Cirruslvr, <K6-2 350 - $38 6/19>
It is better than nothing, at least most
cost will be recovered.
It looks as it is time to upgrade all my
home computers...

Cirruslvr,

<Practically all the vendors have dropped their prices the past few days, which I believe signals they are getting new chips at lower prices. >

IMHO, low pricing in speed grades 366 and below is the direct result of Cyrix clearance. As I mentioned earlier on this thread they may be selling this stuff about, if not below, $20. I estimate that Cyrix has well over 1mu of product going into June. I do not believe there is any significant amount of new 350/366 MHz supply from AMD. This is more likely an adjustment in disti cost to rid the channel of this product and not because some huge amount of new supply coming in. Yes, AMD doesn't make any money on these speed grades and the ASP will be depressed to accomodate the price adjustment for channel inventory.

It will be interesting to see how the lower speed grade Celerons fared during the same time frame.

Don't you think some of these price declines are in response to intc's recently announced discounts and the closeout sale I am sure NSM is having on its cyrix chips? And finally, these numbers are meaningless in determining the AMD's asps for 2nd quarter without knowing the numbers of chips sold in each category.
