Thanks for the information. I wondered as I read it why more woman haven't started up VC companies to address the issue. Seems like a potential big pool of talent is sitting there unfunded. I suppose its one of those chicken and egg situations though.

Also, I believe many of the startup companies have been software and technology related. Men seem drawn in greater numbers to these fields than woman. It seems like that is changing rather quickly.

Even here on SI a few years ago, it seemed like you would rarely find women around the boards, especially in the stock areas. Now the place is full of them! That tells me more and more woman are coming on line and getting involved in technology related companies. So the tide is certainly shifting. And as you say, those VC angels can appear out of nowhere.
