ADOBE PARTNERS WITH ECIRCLES.COM TO REVOLUTIONIZE PHOTO SHARING ON THE
WEB

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jun 21, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Adobe
Systems (Nasdaq: ADBE), Incorporated, the marketshare leader in digital
imaging software, and eCircles.com, the leading site for private
communities on the Web, today announced a partnership to deliver
innovative, web-based photo sharing communities for consumers.

The Adobe and eCircles.com partnership is a key ingredient in Adobe's
recent announcement of its Adobe ActiveShare(TM) desktop software and
the Adobe ActiveShare.com website.

Available in early August, ActiveShare software provides consumers
witha one-click photo import process from a CD, digital camera, or
scanner. Once the photos are in the computer, ActiveShare allows users
to organize and view photos in albums, complete with searching
capabilities, as well as perform basic photo editing and enhancing
tasks. Photos and whole albums can then be automatically transferred to
the Adobe ActiveShare.com website, where the award-winning capabilities
of eCircles.com provide an easy way for friends and family to view and
share photos online.

The Adobe ActiveShare.com web site also offers a consumer's guide to
digital imaging with information, tips, and projects, and photo-related
services for gift creations, photo reprints, cards and more.

As the web increasingly becomes the medium of choice among consumers
for sharing content such as images, music, and video, complementary
desktop applications will greatly improve the overall consumer
experience.

Leading this charge is Adobe, with Adobe Photoshop(R) software holding
80% marketshare in professional digital imaging software. Adobe has
also shipped nearly 20 million copies of the number one selling
consumer photo editing software worldwide, Adobe PhotoDeluxe(R). Along
side is eCircles.com, honored as the best online community by PC World,
that has generated over 1/2 million members since its launch 4 months
ago. Together, Adobe and eCircles are delivering the ultimate consumer
solution for digital photography.

"The most significant technology trends today are the web and digital
photography. When you bring them together you get the next hottest
activity-photo sharing over the web," said Kyle Mashima, vice
president, Adobe Business and Imaging Solutions. "Sharing photos is the
number one reason consumers want digital images. eCircles.com provides
the best photo sharing community site on the Web, while Adobe is the
leader in consumer digital imaging. Our partnership will bring a new
level of sharing and communication for consumers. This is just the
beginning."

"We are excited to be an important part of Adobe's growing presence
onthe Internet. Adobe and eCircles share a common vision -- photos are
a rich way to communicate and that ease-of-use is a critical problem to
resolve on the web," said Prescott Lee, founder and CEO of eCircles.com
"The combination of ActiveShare, ActiveShare.com, and eCircles provides
a completely integrated, consumer-tested experience that removes all of
the problems that users face today when they try to share their photos
over the web. It is anunbeatablecombination."

Heh, I already have an account with a US broker.

128 bit encryption is no issue. Unofficially it's available all over the world, it's only a political fight these days. Anyway, you can still easily connect to a 128 bit server using a weaker browser; the link adjusts to the least common denominator.

the other issue would be the 128 bit encryption... which most US sites that incorporate encryption utilize... and that is not available anywhere outside the US...

Amein, 128 bit encryption is available in Canada and is required by Canadian online brokerage. Hey! Does this mean I get in on the CMGI IPOs?
