Mighty,

It was actually 15 and 21 CSCC ipo numbers that then split over time 6 for 1 then .7 for 1 at the ASND deal leaving cost basis of $3.5 and $5. I mentioned to Howie that I do not deserve to close the thread as I am new here. I first discovered SI in Jan of this year. There were very difficult times for ASND within the last 2 years. Those that carried the torch deserve to take the pedestal.

Good luck with LU!

Brian

Dear Thread:

Have been lurking since Summer '97; only recently paid membership to permit responses.

Want to thank all over the past 2 years for giving me the strength of convictions to follow Ascend, first buying at $49, averaging on down, then back up, with average purchase price at $44. Will hold on and become longterm Lu shareholder. Hope that those who used to follow this thread....eg, Djane, and many longterm others receive my sincere expression of thanx for your intelligent posts, and opinions.

To MM and to Gary, whose banter I have followed on LU and CSCO threads, I can only say with humility that I wish the "volume" could be turned down a few notches, while continuing to provide opinion and analytical insight.

To MM in particular, I would thank you for your insight and display of guts(didn't you take out a 2nd mortgage or something while accumulating more ASND?). OTOH, as a research scientist and physician, I want to gently say that your rhetoric wouldn't pass muster in the academic giants among hospitals, where taking care of the sickest patients occurs under the rubric of evidence, and science and less toward passion and emotion. I like some of your reasoning, but your rhetoric detracts from your credibility. It reminds me of what we teachers and mentors of Medicine must endure as we start out each July 1st with a new round of interns and residents. Nevertheless, I am in your debt from what I have learned from this thread. I sure know alot more about Networking now than I ever thought possible.

I posted this publicly, and I know it must seem bold as my first post on this thread, but I wanted to say what I have been feeling for so long before the thread evaporates.

Go Luscend!!!!!!!!!!!!
