Arris' timetable is unchanged, Lakin said. "We're not changing time frames," he insisted. "We were always talking about alpha (trials) at the end of '99. We were always talking about a beta (test) second quarter of 2000 and going to deployment in the third quarter and beyond in 2000. It's the same thing we've always had. It is not clear to me whether he is talking about Arris' timetable for circuit switched telephony or IP telephony. I assume he is talking about circuit switched telephony. Ken
