To all--well I arrived in Rio de janiero and wanted to check my hotel reservation the taxi driver let me use his Lg electronics dual/mode cdma phone very nice, checking the newspapers full of ads for cdma phones from startac (us$1= $r1.78) r$700 was R$1500 in feb 99 prices have come down and there are more phones mainly motorola/samsung/lg electonics/qualcomm-- Motorola doing well with 3160 probaly made here or korea DUAL/MODE only r$299 IMHO qcom has to compete with this model for mass sales , though its Qphone is $r200 less than startac most brazilians know and choose motorola. this is a huge market as everyone is switching from analog and cdma is getting a good name competion comes from tdma systems but cdma is well in the lead and will continue to grow regards p.s motorola phones don't have dogital by qualcomm sticker all others branda do why is this??
