Oh Rambi! Its so good to hear from a rational animal. We're all animals ya know. I have drawn a blank on finding any kind hearted organization that would help in relocating this family of raccoons. It genuinely ticks me off.

The raptor people advised me to contact a person who runs Critter Control, I call and leave a message. While I'm at lunch enjoying the company of a dear friend I haven't seen in six months, I get the call back, and they proceed to us phrases like "no we can't do that, we have to put them down, it Fish and Game's directive..." Why doesn't she just say kill the babies and their mom? What's wrong with the phrase "murder the defenseless mother and her babies in their cradle, because they pose a nuisance!" What bullshit. Hiding behind some crappy governmental BS that some ignorant bigoted undereducated tin-badged Sacramento bureaucrat has decided is "good policy". I think good policy would be to put him down!

I've gotten advice such as trapping, shooting, scaring off with bright lights and loud horrible rap music, pounding on the deck boards, etc etc, all leading to the conclusion that we humans have certain inalienable rights and the rest of the natural world has to get the hell out of our way. BS!

I cheer for the shark. I clap for the lion. If someone poor soul gets mauled by a mountain lion and killed well too bad! Shoulda thought about that possibility earlier. Now there's one less human to shoot poison or trap mama raccoon and her brood. Instead the typically human reaction is to get a gun and blast every possible lion found nearby to kingdom come. What about the raccoon's inalienable rights ?

I don't want to "get rid" of this little family! They will surely move on, on their own terms in time. I consider us 7 times blessed for this wonderful opportunity to witness the natural world surviving in the fringe around this sick and overpopulated society of human animals. Bravo little mama. Hoped you liked the salmon tonight. I salute you. The minor inconveniences of this event are far outweighed by the sheer wonderfulness of seeing a wonderful side of nature in the raw, yet up close and personal.

The last thing I want to do is inconvenience this little mother. She has her hands full with 6 bundles of energy. They are now starting to bounce of the walls and bound up trees chattering and talking among themselves. She just has a few weeks to months to teach them how to survive in this world so horribly dominated by human animals who don't give shit for anyone or any other being/critter besides themselves. Screw em! I want to help her survive. I am helping her survive. And I truly feel blessed.

Been drinking a bit tonight, can you tell ? A toast to all the mama raccoon's of the world! May your babies bounce with raccoonicity!
