LONDON, June 21 (Reuters) - Angola will outline the future
of investment in its hotly-contested offshore oil industry at a
London conference in September attended by Petroleum Minister
Jose Maria de Vasconcelos, organisers said on Monday.
The gathering, "Oil and Gas Investments in Angola," on
September 20 and 21 will also be attended by officials of state
oil company Sonangol, the Angolan central bank and a number of
Western oil companies, Angolan and British organisers said.
Angolan officials would include Jorge Vandeste, Sonangol's
director of negotiations, Alexandxer Pessoa Vaz, Sonangol's
legal adviser, and central bank official Marta Barroso.
Companies atttending include BP Amoco (ISEL:BPA), Portugal's
state-controlled energy company Petrogal and Canadian oil
explorer Ranger Oil (TSE:RGO), organiser Dean Merrion of CWC
Associates said.
Industry sources say the African oil producer aims to
license more ultra deep water exploration acreage next year
after earning hundreds of millions of dollars from a first such
offering.
Africa's most eagerly sought after offshore prospect drew a
stampede of majors for its first such exploration round
completed this year, with operatorship going to Exxon (NYSE:XON),
BP Amoco and France'S Elf Acquitaine (SBF:ELFP).
Industry sources say these first round blocks may hold oil
worth billions of dollars and may be the largest untapped
reserves being offered for exploration outside the Middle East.

(This is the key paragraph. Who said our new management team wasn't at the top of the food chain?)

This is us:

"Trinity has entered into an agreement with Carlton Energy Group providing Trinity with an option to participate with Carlton in the exploration and development of a geologically attractive block offshore Angola that has been offered to Carlton by Sonangal, the state oil corporation of Angola. The offshore Angola play is one of the most active in the industry at this time, and the block under consideration is highly prospective with several known undrilled structures."

I love this company!
