It happens all the time. Its "forced" because if you don't convert you get $2.16US instead of $37 worth of common. There is no liquidity in the Pfd. When you write a prospectus for a new issue you have to account for it. Pay a listing fee, pay the transfer agent. It adds complications all round. It is such a small amount, so get rid of them. At least they let us get the last semi annual dividend.

You're absolutely right. No need to complicate future matters with having to deal with the odd PRA here and there. Get rid of them and things will be less complicated later.
