<<Time to admit I haven't got a clue as to what is going on.>>
Saw a good semiconductor book to bill on the internet. If its fresh news that might be the cause of the optimism. -Z

Yogi,

I mentioned this as a reason when the stocks were going down, so I will mention it while they are going up:

<<Our statistical analysis...gives evidence to the clear seasonality in tech stocks: They are generally weak on an absolute and relative basis in March and June and then tend to outperform (usually staring in late June) from July through January.>> -- Andrew Neff, Bear Stearns

Au pays des aveugles les borgnes sont rois. In the country of the blind, one-eyed men are kings. I'm resting on the landing zone until someone points the way.

Now that I think about it, maybe that is why analysts do so well with so little insight.

>On a more grounded vein, you have any analysis of this really bizarre but incredibly interesting day of trading disk drive and component stocks?

I have some WAGs about money returning from cyclicals back to tech, but who cares. I don't own markets or sectors; I own individual stocks, and even then, I'm usually pretty hedged.

The gaggle of IPOs coming this week is pretty ominous. Lots of short candidates in the mix, if that's your predilection. I mean, come on. Salon.com? pshaw.

p.s. Generally, though, I'd pull in my horns. Respect the Greenspan-Yardeni model.
