Pricing a secondary at favorable levels is what underwriters do; its accepted practice. Then the green shoe is really worth something, maybe more than the underwriting fees, even. And the customers owe you something, like huge commission business for the next weeks or months. The late spurt today may be indicative that the shorts have found out the secondary is oversold and they will not be able to cover on the offering, thus, they have to go out and buy some shares in the market, too.
