re: iMac delay
---

Although a big shipement/order could be part of it, I'm willing to bet that the final straw triggering the shipping pause is due to a new iMac model to be released in late July/ early August.

Re: iMac delay from Apple Store

I think your number 1 assessment is likely the reason. It's been reported on other Mac news sites that this is somewhat of a yearly summer event as Apple diverts many of its shipments to the education channel. This is the first time the iMac has been available early enough for schools to make major purchases for the upcoming year.
