I see the point about economy of scale. It might be one of those things though where the scale is soooo big that the incremental savings are flattened to nothing. I am NO expert so I might have this wrong! But I am entertaining that the cost differential of taking kids private is more than balanced by the threat of alternative education. This would serve to weed the complacency out of our public eduacation administrators. It's a weird one. A dilemma. On the one hand it takes a gov't to guarantee the level of funding to make the thing fly. Otoh I despise monopoly, even as I count my INTC winnings. :-)
