How am I mistaken? You, personally, may not find it offensive, or counter to any principle. You, personally, may use it in appropriate ways. You acknowledge the offense is recognized by a minority. Therefore, there is the perception of principle in violation. Perhaps the realty as well. You can't say it is used Only appropriately, wherever it is used. Your freedom, as a non-minority [along a different axis than offended], must be abridged because of the misuses by some of the majority, if we are to recognize the consistency of Law. [A consistency I see as the root of more trouble than most see.]
