To weigh in on the current sorry state....

WIND has not proven that it is poised to come out of its swoon. Clearly Wall St is dissatisfied with the 20% growth model. Despite doing a good job of what they should have been doing along with the current steady PR campaign, there really is no evidence that the downtrend is being reversed right now, today. It would take a huge piece of news anout the long-term future long-term fundamentals or some nice numbers coming out in the short-term to turn things around. There is no reason to believe that either of those things will happen soon. I think Wall St. wants WIND to prove that it can grow as well as it was in 96-97-98. They have to show the earnings and they will be rewarded. Look at ORCL, even after LE came out on Charlie Rose and said that "We will be the hottest stock on Wall St after June 15 earnings announcement", ORCL still went nowhere until they actually showed the numbers.

IMHO, we have to await a huge piece of news or some really nice numbers. And I see no reason to expect or not to expect those really nice numbers yet. SO we are in a holding pattern. Certainly WIND has done a lot to shore up a sinking ship since the stock bottomed out around 11. And it is not like the stock is so horribly undervalued at 17. If your a short-termer, you can play this one forever on its volatility. If you're a long-termer, you have had a two-year opportunity to create a nice holding along with a few opportunities here and there to trim your holdings and make a nice profit. I am no fan of the current state of affairs but, it's not the end of the world. Sure looks better than 11 and dropping.

The site might be eetimes, but the magazine is Embedded Developers Journal:

>> EDJ is brought to you by Wind River and the hundreds of associated WindLink partners.

It's quite interesting, if you download the pdf file.
