How to make sure SET TEMP=C:\TEMP is in AUTOEXEC.BAT In a DOS window, type SET Your system will display the values assigned to the environment variables. If TEMP is among them, it's set, and no further action is needed. For example, I typed SET at the F:\ prompt and here's what my system threw out... F:\ set TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM windir=C:\WINDOWS BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4 PROMPT=$P DIRCMD=/OGNE PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND;C:\DEVELOP;D:\UTILITY CL= /Od /W3 /AS /Fs /FPi87 /Zi /G2 /VPMS /J MASM= /MX /S /T /W2 /X /Z /Zi INCLUDE=C:\DEVELOP\INC_LIB LIB=C:\DEVELOP\INC_LIB LINK= /CO I'd expect your system to produce something similar in overall appearance, but much different in detail.
