A thought crossed my mind when I read about S.S. It seems that it is more a norm than an exception, even up to this day, the CFOs in the valley - and very often beyond - are clueless about the trick of their trade. A few years ago, a friend of mine got a job with a midsize software co and was left incredulous that there was no accountability at all. But that was not the worst. I used to hold a company stock whose CFO committed the worst sin by suckered into getting toxic debt [note: many companies knowingly did so b/c their financials are in dire shape, but not that one.] Anyway, with the recent crackdowns on companies cooking the books, maybe people won't be getting away with this kind of thievery like they used to
