>>Hey Allen, What's the deal? Over the weekend weren't you and other regulars saying IOM was finished due to their preannouncement.<<

David -

No, I don't believe I was saying that.

I just figured the stock would go in the toilet for at least the next few months, barring excellent news, and I didn't anticipate any excellent news.

But that's why it's called news, isn't it? If you already knew it, it wouldn't be news.

In fact, I thought that the stock would drop more than it did on Friday, and I was very surprised to see it come back almost the full amount today.

I'm not convinced we've seen the bottom yet, though.

- Allen

Someone got kicked in the cohodes today.

A couple of thoughts about the new ZipCD drive.

The strategy of leveraging both the Zip name with a Philips CD-RW
drive fits, it allows IOM to concentrate on developing or
co-developing the next generation drive which IMO will be a
DVD-RW drive while at the same time showing the industry and
more importantly their customers that Zip means storage even
if you want optics.

This will further enhance their optical brand recognition with
what ever DVD-RW drive they come out with. The name will continue
to be built up, every one has heard of Zip and now Zip means
optics as well. ( I like it )
They should have been able to extract a favorable OEM price
from Philips as ZipCD brand should sell a lot of drives.

Those that are short seem to have turned up the volume a
bit. I could be wrong but it kind of makes me think that
they're worried. Cohodes says it's the family that's holding
the company up with, IMO discriminating undertones. Besecker
should not have allowed this kind of commentary, it really
shows a lot of class and professionalism but, if that's the
way he wants to show himself, than go for it. They probably
have more than 23,000,000 shares to cover by now.
