That's everything for this year- I think-
Rice is endowed heavily and their tuition is, for a school that's rated nationally in the top ten, extremely low.
However, our friends who have kids at UT and A &M are paying half that. ANd CW would have had a free ride at those schools. But they are sooooo big. THe verdict is out on college educations; I know nothing yet.

Check out prepaid tuition plans. They may be just what you are looking for. You can pay for the college now for just pennies on the dollar, if your kid gets into state college, which I understand is somewhat of a challenge in California, but your kids should be able to do it. They are also, in a limited way, portable, from state to state, within a co-operative that the colleges have set up. You can make monthly payments which are tax deductible, too.

I don't know about Rice, but at PLU the total ball is 25+, when you add in books and suchlike. (My G@d, they rip you off for college textbooks!) Then add in all the other stuff, like lacrosse equipment for the club sport ($400+), spending money (don't even ask), etc., and it mounts up.
