<Here are one, if you feel inclined. Why is IR function so unresponsive. Smaller companies then Cognos provide simple things like taping the CC so that investors can listen to the discussion after the fact.>

Sultan, I took the opportunity to talk with Donnie Moore SVP of finance and CFO of the company about your question. I myself have tried in the past to be included in the end of Q CC to no avail.
Mr Moore told me that he is looking into the matter at this time and also is looking at hiring a IR specialist to look after matters such as these. From what I was told we could see a change in the companies end of Q presentations that might include web casts as other companies now are doing in the next 2-3 Q's. I will be contacting Mr. Moore on a fairly regular basis to get updates on the progress of the above mentioned issue.

I also had the good fortune to talk to several senior Cognos employees
about the additional 200 hires (total work force now at 1900) ~80 in sales and marketing, ~80 in customer support and ~40 in R&D. I was told that on average it takes around 6 months to get these new hires up to speed. Increased business is expected in the same time period.

Their were no questions from the floor and many people looked more interested in the food and drink offered after the AGM than the actual AGM.

Senior management were far more upbeat about the prospects of the company during our conversations after the AGM than what transpired during the meeting.

I asked each person about Business Objects and to a man they said that Cognos has the lead and they intend to keep it.
