I didn't want to bring up Y2K now.. it is too soon. But I have been following the y2k thread here on SI and there are alot of people yelling fire over there. Because they seem to be enjoying the negative slant on things, I don't really get unnerved by them.
Remember all the implications/combinations.
#1 nothing could happen
#2 media can scare population into selling and hoarding.
#3 if we sell early it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy.
#4 What are the BIGGUYS going to do? (Scare us out early and then buy our shares and we'll be out in the cold?)
It's good to have intelligent posters to communicate with on this issue.

Input please?
Mr. Rascal

JF3,

We apparently think alike. My significant other (who could spank Se Ri Pak with a little practice) has informed me that I should run all trades past her before I hit those buttons.

I don't want to! I surely know more than her; after all I have lived off my own stock trading for going on six years now while I have married her within the last year. What does my whiney whitebread wife know about the complex and confusing world of the stock market?

She knows that I am eternally optimistic about technology. Her cautionary stance has been my greatest downfall as well as my greatest asset when it comes to stock prices. In other words I finally have someone that will confirm my newfound bearishness while checking the bullish outlook inherent in most of my moves.

Bottom line - I'm worried about the short term but buying for the long term. Hope your wife is sympathetic to your views.

Wives are WAY wonderful women,
C Nelson
