Bill27: While you are waiting this out, try to get hold of the analysis and commentary Jack Grubman ( the Salomon Smith Barney telecom analyst) wrote on how the GBLX/Frontier/US West merger was constructed regarding the two classes of stock what were to be created. Grubman was instrumental in helping to craft the deal. In a sense, two tracking stocks are being created. The one that combines Frontier's fiberoptic channels in the US with GBLX's international fiberoptic channels is a powerhouse stock.

One additional point not well known but just as important: GBLX inherits from Frontier a chain of internet server hubs called "Global Centers" in California, Arizona, New York, Washington DC, London, and Melbourne. In short, Global gained an internet hosting business equal in size to Exodus Communications with better clients, a global network, at a fraction of what it would have cost to purchase this capability from EXDS.

When this mess clears, both QWST and GBLX will be stocks worth owning as the best long term plays in fiber telecom sphere. I put LVLT as a very distant third.
