B, I don't think the RTC's list actually showed a "registered short" as much as it showed holders in the various brokerage accounts adding up to some number. That number with the TA's list of "registered holders" = big number. That big number - shares outstanding = THE SHORT POSITION. ONce the exact number is known then I think you'll see the JV announcement. But thats just my own "gut feelings"...
