Allan, You or other people telling how the the internet is a super duper collosal big deal deserves a response of"DUH" and it's time to move on. I would be an ignoramus if I failed to see the dramatic changes in what I do in my own life and in the fabric of society and the economy as a result of the internet which is still in its infancy. That however says little about what the stock price and valuation is deserved by these companies. The railroads were kind of a big deal as were automobiles but most of the people who jumped into these investments ended up with stock certificates that made fancy toilet paper. How many mega billion market caps are we to give to these companies and do you or anyone really have a very strong model of future earnings. Sooner or later people are not going to pay up for business models that lose money with transactions but make it up in volume. Yes some will find winning models that prove profitable on an ongoing basis but the value of most dot com are likely to prove a fad and a bubble in the fullness of time. Perhaps we can see who was correct 20 years from now when we meet on the Justa and Lars Senior activity board Marc
