Tom, indeed, his last post was well considered
on the other hand, imho,unlikely

the elements that must be synchronized in order to attain the anticipated IPO valuation may not be achieved according to my modest experience in the telco and integration sectors

working backwards from the user;

poor quality
reliability less than dial tone
projected utilization anticipates an 'ecommerce' focus, possibly not
cost of access to the telephone (landline or wireless) is controlled by other entities, which are 'monopolies' in their individual markets
agreements must be entered into with other providers unless the equipment is in place for all possible geographical user locations
VPN costs may be higher than 'internet' costs
billing may be difficult to coordinate and audit

i have heard that this model 'works', maybe, but scaling something that 'almost' works will cause difficulties, the quicker it grows the greater the probability of implosion

there are also the issues of asset/liability/accrual transfers from the parent, how shares are released, share support 'agreements' etc...

two last points, 60's comments came from the VC's (without customer validation), and competition--the company that influences users access to the telephone can and will circumvent this model, easily

good luck
it will be interesting
all imho
ynot :)
