Hmmm last I checked EBAY was down for 22 hours costing millions and all because of Sun not installing a patch (a rumour).

Let's not stoop to this kind of stuff, James. You claim to be a propeller-head. When a machine goes down because a vendor's patch isn't installed, is it the vendor's fault? When your PC crashes because it doesn't have a patch that's been sitting on Microsoft's web site for six months, is it because Microsoft forgot to install the patch? Or is there some kind of service contract between Sun and Ebay that was only publicized on the James Nicoll Whip-a-Dead-Horse thread?

If not, I guess Microsoft is responsible for even more evil than I thought.
