The short position has always puzzled me particularly in that they seem to have no target for how low a price they will cover at. Even when it went below 10, the shorts hung on rather than cover. Now they may have to consider a high end target for cutting their losses. If there are any shorts reading this board, please enlighten us as to what your strategy is.

If I'm not mistaken, most of the shorting occurred when we lost the WCW license. They seem to think that they have found a "special situation" - one wrestling license replaced with half a wrestling license. I really wonder how much research they have done. Have they studied THQI's game line-up for this year vs. last year? Have they estimated earnings contributions for each game like Todd Wiener and others on this thread have? Are they even remotely aware that WWF is kicking WCW's butt?

BTW, there's an interesting poll being conducted at videogames.com. "Which next-generation system are you saving up to buy?" With 2630 votes counted, the results are as follows:

Playstation 39%
Dolphin 20%
Dreamcast 17%
All of above 20%
None of above 2%

Don't ask me why it adds up to only 98%. It's not my poll.
