They have been the leaders of this Bull Run: there is no reason for them not to continue to lead.
The key here, I think, is trying to figure out when the mass psychology will turn.
Personally, I think Greenspan is nuts for even considering raising the Fed Funds and Discount Rate with corporate earnings projected to slow in the second half of the year due to Y2K. He is only going to add fuel to the downward spiral by doing so. Just Wait till the Street realizes ( by the beginning of August? ) that a few rate hikes are in store.
Gold topped out shortly after the first fed easing last October. It should bottom out shortly after the first fed tightening. Gold sure looks very attractive here. There will be a great wall of worry of more CB sales as its price rises.
