It's a meaningless event in any circumstance. uniphase just joined the nasdaq 100 and went up 5 points for 5 minutes and closed even for the day.

There are very few funds tied to the nasdaq 100 so an entry into the index means nothing from a money flow perspective.

Entering the S&P 500 on the other hand is a VERY big deal, but we are years away from that (if ever) with SEBL.
