Concentrate Your Money On Wireless! Axxel Knutson's VTAR Top Stock Picks

BusinessWire, Monday, June 21, 1999 at 05:23

by Interactive Business Channel

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 18, 1999--Ibchannel.com (OTC:IBCI) Friday announced that it is once again featuring Axxel's Knutson's buy and sell recommendations in its weekly newsletter ibchannel.com.

IBC Featured Company Web Sites

intelliquis.com (OTC BB:INTQ) -- E-Commerce

intermost.com (OTC BB:IMOT) -- Asian Web Portal

http:/www.cytation.com (OTC BB:CYTA) -- Online Learning

wrdp.com (NASDAQ:WRDP) -- Telecom

noyr.com (OTC BB:NOYR) -- ISP Rollup

IBC Feature Company Coming Soon ... Wireless Industry Leader

usrf.com -- Internet Media (OTC BB:USRF) had already received inquiries from over 100 local dial-up Internet Service Providers (ISPs) servicing over 200 cities concerning USRF's new Quick-Cell(TM) program, announced March 10. The Quick-Cell program is designed to facilitate the rapid deployment of Internet Media's two-way broadband Wireless Internet access system, on a nationwide basis, under license arrangements with local, independent ISPs.

Quick-Cell is a turnkey, plug and play Wireless Internet access system that can be deployed by a local ISP in about one week. Quick-Cell will give the local ISPs the ability to offer two-way broadband Wireless Internet access at T-1 equivalent speeds, while charging between 40% to 50% less than below the price of traditional, hard-wire T-1 service.

IBC's Current Feature Company Update -- Internet Healthcare

nutritioncafe.com, the Internet's premier nutrition portal -- TrimFast (OTC BB:TRIM) has entered into a letter of intent with Leisure Concepts, the licensing group for WCW Wrestling. WCW/NWO is backed by Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner Inc., (NYSE:TWX) the two most influential and powerful names in entertainment. TrimFast Group Inc. and Leisure Concepts are expected to complete the definitive agreement by July 1, 1999.

Investors are at awe with the size of the online health care market. More telling than DrKoop.com's (NASDAQ:KOOP) impressive IPO run-up is the amount of money that well known institutions like Healtheon (NASDAQ:HLTH), News Corp., ETrade, GE Equity, Soros Fund Management and Sequoia Capital have invested recently in the online health care arena. According to Cyberdialogue.com, approximately 45% of health intensive Internet users are interested in purchasing vitamins or supplements online. This is higher than prescription drugs, OTC drugs, and other medical supplies.

WIRELESS -- Concentrate your money here for the moment!

ASM Lithography Holding (NASDAQ:ASML) (49 3/4) POSITIVE. Buy

all the under $50.

Broadcom (NASDAQ:BRCM) (106) a buy right here and a Strong Buy

on any break of $100. Important stock.

PRI Automation (NASDAQ:PRIA) (35 1/2) strong buy. Appears

important.

RF Microdevices (NASDAQ:RFMD) (53 2/4) strong

buy ... particularly under $50.

Sierra (NASDAQ:PMCS) (61 1/4) Buy. Continues even stronger than

before according to VTAR(TM) stuff.

Uniphase (NASDAQ:UNPH) (151) buy any stock under $150. Very

powerful, accumulate weakness and the dulls.

QUALCOM (NASDAQ:QCOM) (110 1/4) positive.

THE INTERNET -- THE GUTS

3Com (NASDAQ:COMS) (25 3/4) new coverage ... big roller coaster

from the 20's to the 50 level and back. Well here it is back.

Probably worth accumulating. But don't go nuts.

Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) (113 3/4) rated a "buy." An

important stock to own so buy this on days following total daily

volume in the stock under 8 million shares on minor price

deterioration.

CNET (NASDAQ:CNET) (52 3/8) a very important stock in the long

term and worthy of ownership. But we like the potential of a

break of $50; so buy the break of $50.

Earthlink Network Inc. (NASDAQ:ELNK) (50 1/4) watching only.

Globix (NASDAQ:GBIX) (34 3/4) we played before ... we are not

playing now.

IBS Interactive (NASDAQ:IBSX) (22.5) no interest in the

20's ... see me in the teens ... maybe ... watching only.

Linear Technology (NASDAQ:LLTC) (59 1/16) strong buy and

important.

Harmonic Light (NASDAQ:HLIT) (54 1/4) just a magnificent

Internet-related issue ... totally ignoring the Internet crunch

and still not suggesting evidence of danger. However, we are some

distance off the base and that suggests caution.

Inktomi Corporation (NASDAQ:INKT) (96) With the base $70-80

and the spike to $150 plus and now a break of the even number of

$100, let's buy. New Coverage.

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) (53 15/16) "... we have no strong opinion on

this stock. We are NOT players in Intel." No change. We are not

impressed. But the very short term? A likely lift. We don't

care.

Internet America Inc. (NASDAQ:GEEK) (17 1/2) new coverage. On

Monitor list -- positive but we are not there yet. (Internet

service provider in the southwestern United States.)

Lucent (NYSE:LU) (60) Buy only breaks and that means a break

of $60. Very acceptable.

Macromedia (NASDAQ:MACR) (39 11/16) accumulate weakness.

Anywhere in here is fine. It has the products ... yes it does.

Microsoft (MSFT) (82) we will buy this base.

Mindspring Enterprises (NASDAQ:MSPG) (69 11/16) Negative and no

interest $50+.

Novell (NASDAQ:NOVL) (23 3/4) coming back to NOVL. Accumulate

the dullness ... the duller the better as far as the acquisition

point. Internet stock? Well, not quite ... but I am the one

making the definitions.

Nortel Networks (NYSE:NT) (82 1/4) You can put your Microsoft

money here. Still. We rate this stock a strong buy ... here and

on any break of $80, we would lean on it with call options for

those knowledgeable about options and are aware of the important

risks involved in options and have STUDIED the Options Clearing

stuff. Price objective: triple digits. To get extraordinary price

movement and to not pay much for it in terms of risk is the

endeavor worth working for.

Open Text Corp. (NASDAQ:OTEX) (31 1/8) nice step -- progressions

and relative lack of speculative interest. I like that. Enuf to

jump up and down to buy it? No. But under $30 ... maybe, but for

the moment I am thinking about more important things like is my

John Deere lawn tractor ready for a new paint job ... should it

be green ... sort of icky color, don't you think? Open Text is

application software for use on Intranets, extranets and the

Internet that allows users to find electronically stored

information. Maybe black with white polka dots ... maybe. I will

discuss with the Mrs. (actually, Ms.)

Realnetworks (NASDAQ:RNWK) (67 9/16) well, that probably enuf

of a concession from $130 ... and the stock is IMPORTANT ... but

will not step in here. So ... neutral/positive.

Spyglass (NASDAQ:SPYG) (17 5/8) sell short-term. LT: OK.

ICC Technologies -- name change from Rare Medium Group Inc.

(RRRR) (12 5/8) new coverage. Buy. A break of $10 would be

wonderful ... but we will take some here. Internet strategies, to

improve business processes and develop interactive content using

Internet-based technologies. Interesting client base.

SunMicrosystems (NASDAQ:SUNW) (59 13/16) It was a very nice run

from about the 70's? I think so. But here? Accumulate the fifty

stock. Important to own in portfolios LT.

PORTALS

America Online (NYSE:AOL) (106 3/4) buying AOL in triple digits

is not for us. How about $90? Nah, not at $90 ... OK, how about

$85 ... ah ... nah, not at $85 ... WELL THEN WHEN? Stay tuned ...

that's all I can say. (Why am I talking to myself?)

Excite (NASDAQ:XCIT) (133) Negative. Buy the break of $100.

Go2Net (NASDAQ:GNET) (107) no triple digits for us ... no

interest at the moment. Negative.

Infoseek Corp (NASDAQ:SEEK) (46 3/4) enuf destruction and now

we will buy the break of $40.

Lycos (NASDAQ:LCOS) (92) no current interest.

Prodigy (NASDAQ:PRGY) (23 1/2) fell off the cliff with the

Internets. Still to have its day in the sun. Accumulate the

dulls. Off that and worthy of accumulation. Spanish niche.

PSINET (NASDAQ:PSIX) (43) ISP new coverage. With a recent high

of 75+, we will wait a little. Stock in the 30's should work and

it DOES look cheap. Go do your fundamental stuff on this.

Sportsline, USA (NASDAQ:SPLN) (33 1/4) neutral.

TheGlobe.com (NASDAQ:TGLO) (16 1/8) here is an example of a

pre-mature split. Negative. A break of $10 ... OK, then.

Yahoo (NASDAQ:YHOO) (144) Negative. No triple digits for us.

WEB COMMUNITIES

Ivillage (NASDAQ:IVIL) (40 1/4) appears lower. Negative.

XOOM.com (NASDAQ:XMCM) (48) on Monitor list -- Positive.

NEWS AGGREGATORS

Infospace (NASDAQ:INSP) (48 1/2) trading only ... buy the $30

and sell the $50

Newsedge (NASDAQ:NEWZ) (8 1/16) Buy.

E-MALLS

Cybershop (NASDAQ:CYSP) (7 1/2) neutral.

Creative Computers Inc. (NASDAQ:MALL) (7 5/16) no strong

opinion.

IMALL (NASDAQ:IMAL) (16 1/2) "... take the profit here as

well ... We are not playing. Looks alike a break of $10. Not a

contender and want no involvement." WELL, MAYBE NOT $10 ... but a

reputation problem. Just neutral.

RETAIL -- INTERNET

Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) (113) was OK for trading, but this is

looking tired. Now we need a break of $100. So, short-term

negative.

Audio Book Club (AMEX:KLB) (14 9/16) probable dribble back to

the base at $11-12 ... neutral negative.

Auto by Tel (NASDAQ:ABTL) (20 1/2) doubtful mover in the

short-term ... under $15 by the looks of it.

Audio Highway (NASDAQ:AHWY) (15 3/4) single digits.

AutoWeb (NASDAQ:AWEB) (13 1/16) single digits, please.

Barnes & Noble (NYSE:BKS) (26 3/4) not happening. Teens, by the

looks of it.

Beyond.com (NASDAQ:BYND) (23 1/2) negative.

CDNow (NASDAQ:CDNW) (17 1/4) a price to pay for that May move

to the upside, so we will be negative and await a crunch under

$15 ... for now Monitor List Neutral

Cheap tickets (NASDAQ:CTIX) (33 5/8) no current interest.

Watching only.

Cyberian Outpost (NASDAQ:COOL) (10 3/4). We are not interested

in double digits.

Digital River (NASDAQ:DRIV) (27 1/8) no interest in the

twenties. Negative.

Getty Images (NASDAQ:GETY) (21 3/4) in the teens perhaps ... but

not here.

Intimate Brands (IBI) (50 1/2) rolling negative. Not for us.

Navarre (NASDAQ:NAVR) (10 3/4) a break of $5 and we will

re-evaluate. Negative.

Onsale (NASDAQ:ONSL) (16 7/16) neutral.

Peapod (NASDAQ:PPOD) (8 7/8) neutral-positive only.

Preview Travel (NASDAQ:PTVL) (17) we will go with a buy

here ... below the base. But not a lot, please.

Ticketmaster B (NASDAQ:TMCS) (26 1/2) no current interest.

Market-related. I am not on board.

AUCTIONS

EBay (NASDAQ:EBAY) (178) the gorilla in the group. It is very

doubtful that his stock can continue to take the pressure. Sell.

Look for double digits.

Sotheby's Holdings (NYSE:BID) (37 5/16) step aside. Neutral.

UBID (NASDAQ:UBID) (34) we are not bidding. Negative.

BUSINESS TO BUSINESS

Broadvision (NASDAQ:BVSN) (57 1/4) Buy. (Develops, markets and

supports application software for ecommerce.) Strong Buy on a

break of $50.

Check Point Software Technology (NASDAQ:CHKP) (52) it is likely

that the fifties will no longer be available. Buy. Policy based

enterprise security and traffic management solutions that protect

information assets and enhance the performance of enterprise

networks

Cybercash (NASDAQ:CYCH) (12 13/16) we will look again on a

break of $10. Not here.

Earthweb (NASDAQ:EWBX) (31 1/2) negative.

Exodus Communications (NASDAQ:EXDS) (91 1/4) new coverage.

There is some real power here and it was demonstrated in the

recent move this week $60 to almost $110. It was fun to watch.

Appears very important. Internet system and network management

solutions for enterprises with mission critical Internet

operations -- That's what they say.

Global Crossing (NASDAQ:GBLX) (51) new coverage the base is in

the 20-30 range so jumping on here after that run seems spooky

... however, there has been about two months of sideways movement

(with an up bias, unfortunately) and diminished spec activity. We

will gently buy the breaks of $50. Global Internet & long

distance telecommunications.

Rowe (NASDAQ:ROWE) (15) negative.

Sterling Commerce (NYSE:SE) (33 7/8) New coverage. Develops,

markets and supports electronic commerce software products.

Provides electronic commerce business to business electronic

communications and transactions. Fell out of bed earlier in the

year. Has consolidated that decline and now appears ready to

press up to the previous highs and push through later this year.

Buy breaks of $30. Fairly important stock.

VeriSign (NASDAQ:VRSN) (133) New coverage of this provider of

services needed by websites, enterprises and individuals to

conduct trusted and secure electronic commerce and communications

over the Internet, intranets and extranets. The market crunch in

Internets defined the lower level at $101. The bounce here is

perhaps a bit much, but we would accumulate any signs of weakness

from this point. Buy.

VerticalNet (NASDAQ:VERT) (58) "... appears very strong Own

it ... somehow.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Ameritrade (NASDAQ:AMTD) (84) this was our favorite ... but we

have no interest north of $50.

CMGI Inc. (NASDAQ:CMGI) (102 3/16) another stock that should

not have split. We have no interest north of $50. Sell.

E-Trade (NASDAQ:EGRP) (40) again another split ... and a price

to pay for it. Possible 1/2 price sale coming. Sell.

Market Guide (NASDAQ:MARG) (18 1/2) very, very constructive.

Buy.

Multex (NASDAQ:MLTX) (32) Neutral.

Schwab (NYSE:SCH) (99) not North of $50 ... Sell.

Neutral/Negative.

Security First Tech (NASDAQ:SONE) (37 1/4) new coverage and no

interest. Negative.

Winfield Capital (NASDAQ:WCAP) (22 3/4) negative. Been there,

done that.

ADVERTISING RELATED

24/7 Media (NASDAQ:TFSM) (31 1/4) a break of $20 would interest

us. Negative short-term.

Double-Click (NASDAQ:DCLK) (95 1/4) an important stock last

year ... but not this. Negative

Netgravity (NASDAQ:NETG) (21 1/2) certainly the discount is

here from the highs ... with that the case, accumulate gently.

TIN BOXES WITH WEIRD LOOKING STUFF LOOSELY PACKED INSIDE

Apple Computer (NASDAQ:AAPL) (47 1/2) it's done the work.

Buy ... the only tin box for us.

Compaq (CPQ) (22 7/16) "... unacceptable. Teens, I guess. The

want it ...

Gateway (NYSE:GTW&server=trading10.schwab.com/trading&signature=yes">NYSE:GTW) (61) VTAR(TM) numbers = blah. But give is a

In the News -- Local and long distance telephone company Frontier Corp. (NYSE:FRO) late Thursday spurned an unsolicited $11.6 billion takeover offer from Qwest Communications International Inc. (NASDAQ:QWST). Frontier reaffirmed its plan to be bought by Global Crossing Ltd. (NASDAQ:GBLX) for about $11.4 billion. Qwest, the No. 4 long-distance carrier in the United States, has also launched a separate bid to woo Baby Bell US West (NYSE:USW). BellSouth (NYSE:BLS) may join the auction as well.

Daniel Schulman, who was AT&T's (NYSE:T) executive vice president and president of consumer long-distance marketing, will become Priceline.com's (NASDAQ:PCLN) president and chief operating officer. Schulman said the opportunity to join such a leading e-commerce effort was irresistible, especially after having commandeered AT&T's Worldnet Internet service.

Gillete Co. (NYSE:G) shares could be active after the company warned late Thursday that it expects to report about a 20 percent drop in second-quarter earnings per share versus the year-earlier period and that sales should grow only in the low single digits. Analysts polled by First Call Corp. were expecting earnings of 29 cents per share. The razor and consumer products company cited poor sales of its stationery and toiletries businesses and slower-than-anticipated recovery in several key international markets.

Also making news was Lucent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:LU), which reportedly is close to a deal to buy Nexabit Networks Inc., a privately held maker of high-speed Internet switches. The New York Times interactive edition said Friday that Lucent was near an agreement to pay between $600 million and $800 million for Nexabit. Both companies declined to comment.

Meanwhile, software maker Adobe Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBE) reported better-than-expected results after the market close Thursday. The company reported net income of $45 million, up 60.7 percent from $28 million reported in the year-earlier period. Diluted earnings per share totaled 70 cents, compared with the First Call estimate of 65 cents and earnings of 41 cents per share in the year-earlier period.

Computer products maker Micron Technology (NYSE:MU) is expected to post third quarter earnings of 6 cents per share.

Cosmo,
A.G. Edwards may be saying "don't accumulate above $130", but a maintain rating is generally interpreted as a hold or sell, I believe.

In any case, the market apparently doesn't take it seriously, with Q up over 6 pts. already, and the NASDAQ and DJI down. Major accumulation going on!

Sure is a nice day, again

Buying QCOM recently at 100 was an easy no brainer for me.
How anyone cannot have done so is plain dumb. Just because
it was up 400% at 100, it was still cheap. But so many
people thought that it was just another internet bubble stock.

Those fools aint seen nothing , YET!!!

sure is a nice day
