We have DSS and it is very reliable...except when it rains like mad.
Remember when the last sat. went down and nobody could page their babysittters? Whatif 12 million are 'on-line' through a sat. and can't get through for days?
I agree that cable will be more reassuring to most.

Steeny....re: satellite dishes...I have a very small one...pizza dish sized....No problems...its under the eave....no can see without going and looking for it....

I think the important aspect of this latest news (satellite access) is not whether it will replace or even compete with cable, but rather that it is yet another way to get to AOL. AOL's strategy afterall is "AOL everywhere" not "AOL here's the best way to get to us."
